Tinubu Aware His Policies Causing Hardship Among Nigerians – Gov Sule
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says President Bola Tinubu was well aware that some of his policies are causing serious hardship in the country.
He, however, noted that the President had never at any occasion told anyone it was going to be easy, but insisted that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Recall that since taking over office from former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, Tinubu has taken tough decisions like the removal of subsidies on petroleum products and the floating of the naira among others.
His decisions have sent the prices of goods and services high and subjected citizens to real hardship.
Governor Sule, appearing on Channels Television’s on Tuesday, said there is light at the end of the tunnel, assuring of better days ahead.
“At the end of the day, some of these reforms being taken by Mr President, he clearly mentioned to Nigerians that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” Sule said.
“As far as Mr President is concerned, he is very much aware of these reforms. Nobody said they were going to be easy, they are going to be difficult. This is the hardship we will go through but it is only temporary.”
The twin policies of fuel subsidy removal and Naira floating in June 2023 had contributed heavily to the economic hardship Nigerians face.
The policies that led to the fuel pump rising to over N1,030 per litre and the Naira to Dollar at over N1600 had a ripple effect on inflation and the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
