Big Blow For Harris As Trump Claims Victory In Battleground Georgia
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has secured a significant victory in the battleground state of Georgia, flipping a state that voted Democratic in the 2020 election.
Early projections from CNN and NBC News on Wednesday confirmed the former president’s win, delivering a major setback to his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that NBC News highlighted this as a major achievement for Republicans, who aimed to restore Georgia’s status as a Republican stronghold after Democratic wins by President Joe Biden in 2020 and the subsequent runoff victories by Democratic Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.
The victory also marks a turnaround since Trump’s controversial efforts to contest his 2020 loss in Georgia, which included a call to Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, urging him to “find” enough votes to overturn the result—a request that later became part of a criminal racketeering case against Trump in Fulton County, which remains ongoing.
While Trump’s win in Georgia does not secure his path back to the White House, it strengthens his position, leaving him closer to victory if he manages to capture additional swing states that Biden won in the last election.
Biden’s 2020 win in Georgia marked the first Democratic victory in the state since Bill Clinton in 1992, while Trump previously carried it in 2016.
Trump’s campaign invested heavily in countering Democratic influence in Georgia’s urban centers, especially around Atlanta, while boosting turnout in rural areas.
His campaign benefited from an energized base of Republican county chairs and local officials, who organized steady campaign events well before Trump intensified his own efforts in the state.
Trump himself made six campaign stops across Georgia this year, holding rallies in Rome, Savannah, and Atlanta.
