Trump Reaffirms Pledge For Mass Deportation, Prioritises Border Security
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump reaffirmed his campaign pledge for the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants, stating that costs would not hinder the plan.
In one of his first public statements since his election victory, Trump emphasized that his top priority upon assuming office in January would be to establish a “strong and powerful” border.

“It’s not a question of a price tag. It’s not – really, we have no choice,” Trump told NBC News.
“When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag.”
Throughout the campaign, estimates varied on how many individuals might face removal, but Vice President-elect JD Vance indicated they would begin with one million deportations.
In a phone interview with NBC on Thursday, Trump partly attributed his election victory to his firm stance on immigration.
“They want to have borders, and they like people coming in, but they have to come in with love for the country,” he said. “They have to come in legally.”
