At Least 25 Killed, 50 Injured In Quetta Railway Station Blast
Authorities report that at least 25 people have been killed in a bombing at a railway station in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
The explosion injured dozens more as a popular morning train prepared to depart Quetta station, bound for Peshawar.

The Balochistan Liberation Army, a militant separatist group, claimed responsibility for what police have identified as a suicide attack. Balochistan has recently seen a rise in deadly attacks linked to demands for independence and control over the region’s resources.
The city’s commissioner confirmed the death toll of 25, including the suicide bomber, with about 50 others injured. Senior police official Muhammad Baloch estimated the bomber carried 6-8 kg of explosives, resulting in casualties among both civilians and military personnel.
Videos circulating on social media captured the moment of the explosion, showing a bustling platform before the blast and, afterward, scenes of injured victims and debris scattered across the station.
Abdul Jabbar, one of the injured, recalled buying a ticket when the blast hit: “It was like judgment day had come,” he said. Another witness, Muhammad Sohail, arrived shortly after and described the scene as “destroyed” with people “screaming for help.”
The Baloch Liberation Army stated they targeted a military unit returning from Quetta following training.

Balochistan’s chief minister condemned the attack, calling it “deplorable” and pledging to bring those responsible to justice. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq denounced the attackers as “enemies of humanity.”
Despite being rich in natural resources, Balochistan remains Pakistan’s least developed province. It shares a volatile border with Iran and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, and has a strategic coastline along the Arabian Sea.
