Traders laud Hon Sylvester Ogunkelu for Transforming Pobo Market
Ekohotblog reports that traders at Pobo Market in Poka, Eredo LCDA, have expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Sylvester Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu, popularly known as “Sketel,” for his impactful contributions to the market’s development.
Hon. Ogunkelu, who represents Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has undertaken several projects to improve the market, including the provision of a borehole for clean water, a standby generator, public toilets, and streetlights.
These initiatives have significantly enhanced the quality of life for traders and their customers.
Chief (Mrs.) Roseline Oluremi Ogunkoya (JP), the Iyaloja of Pobo Market, lauded the lawmaker’s efforts:
“We are very happy with Hon. Ogunkelu. Before now, we had no water or lights, but he gave us a borehole, generator, and streetlights.
These things have made our market better. We are fully behind him and pray that God will bless him and his family.”
Similarly, the Babaloja, Chief Bello Razak, acknowledged the positive impact of the projects:
“Hon. Ogunkelu has helped us a lot. His projects have made this market cleaner and more comfortable for everyone. We thank him and will continue to support him so he can do even more for us.”
Other traders commended the streetlights for improving safety at night and the borehole for providing easy access to clean water. One trader shared:
“The streetlights allow us to sell at night without fear, unlike before when we were always scared of the unknown. It shows that Hon. Sketel cares about us.”
Another trader added:
“The borehole and generator have solved big problems for us. We are very grateful to him.”
The market leaders, Chief Ogunkoya and Chief Razak, encouraged the public to visit the market and support the traders.
“We invite everyone to come and see the changes in Pobo Market. It is now a better place for trading, thanks to Hon. Ogunkelu,” Chief Ogunkoya remarked.
