Marriage is a Scam – Nollywood Actress, Abimbola Craig
Nollywood actress Abimbola Craig has controversially stated that “marriage is a scam.”
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the WithChude podcast, the actress criticized traditional marital roles, particularly the expectation that women manage the home and serve their husbands. She humorously referred to the title “Mrs.” as standing for “Master’s in Residential Servicing.”

Craig clarified that her decision to remain single was not due to opposition to marriage but rather a desire for a partner who is self-aware and purposeful.
She shared, “When I was younger, my mum used to say marriage is an institution. She told me that when they call you ‘Mrs,’ it means ‘Master’s in Residential Servicing.’ I am not married not because I don’t want to be, but because if you’re a man who doesn’t know who you are, you cannot be with me.”
