Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Installs Solar Streetlights on Lagbeja-Agric Road
Ekohotblog reports that the administration of Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has installed solar-powered streetlights along Lagbeja-Agric Road in the Itoikin Community.
The project is aimed at improving safety, supporting economic activities, and making life better for residents.
The streetlights enhance road safety at night by improving visibility and reducing crime.
They also complement the ongoing road construction on Lagbeja-Agric Road, which is now 80% completed.
Speaking about the project, Otunba Anomo said, “This is part of our plan to bring development closer to the people. The solar streetlights are not just about lighting the road but about creating a safer and better community for everyone.”
Residents of the Itoikin Community have expressed their happiness about the project.
Mrs. Ronke, a shop owner, said, “The streetlights make the road look beautiful at night, and I feel safer closing my shop late. We are thankful to Otunba Anomo for this.”
Another resident, Mr. Balogun, added, “With the lights, more people stay out late to do business. This is helping our community grow.”
The solar-powered streetlights are part of many projects by the council to improve the lives of people in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
“We are committed to delivering projects that meet the needs of our people. This is just one of many more to come,” Otunba Anomo said.
