Yoruba Obas Forum Visits Ranodu of Imota, Lagos
Ekohotblog reports that the Yoruba Obas Forum, an association of traditional rulers from Yoruba-speaking states, on Wednesday visited the Ranodu of Imota, Oba Ajibade Agoro, at his palace in Imota, Lagos State.
The visit was part of the forum’s initiative to strengthen unity and promote Yoruba culture among monarchs across the region.
The forum’s president, Oba Dr. Samuel Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere in Ondo State, led the delegation and praised Oba Agoro for his dedication to preserving Yoruba heritage.
“The Yoruba Obas Forum is committed to promote unity and collaboration among Yoruba kings.
“As custodians of our people’s traditions, we must work together to uphold our cultural values and address the challenges facing our communities,” he said.
Welcoming the delegation, Oba Ajibade Agoro expressed gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of unity among Yoruba monarchs.
“The strength of Yoruba land lies in our collective heritage.
“By working together, we can ensure that our traditions remain vibrant and relevant for future generations,” he stated.
Oba Agoro also highlighted the forum’s efforts in bringing Yoruba monarchs together to discuss issues of cultural preservation and regional development.
“This forum is a channel of hope for the Yoruba people, and I commend the leadership for their commitment to our shared goals,” he added.
The forum members joined Oba Agoro in a special prayer session for peace, progress, and unity across Yoruba-speaking regions.
Oba Agoro prayed, “May Yoruba land continue to thrive in peace, and may our leaders be granted wisdom to guide our people toward prosperity.”
Oba Dr. Adeoye used the occasion to call for stronger partnerships among traditional rulers, noting that collaborative efforts are key to addressing challenges in the region.
“We must remain steadfast in our resolve to protect our culture, promote peace, and champion development in Yoruba land,” he said.
