EKO HOT BLOG reports that despite his conversion to Christianity, he maintains close ties with Muslims, describing them as “pure-hearted.”
He clarified that his participation in Ramadan events is not tied to his Muslim background but is rooted in his belief that religion is not confined to rituals but should foster transformation.
“I attend Ramadan lectures almost every year and do Iftah with Muslims because I’m a preacher of love. There’s no religion in heaven. I believe in promoting morals and care for parents, which transcends religious affiliations,” Ogundipe said.
He recounted how his journey to the CCC began after a humiliating experience his mother faced in church due to their poverty. This incident, coupled with the welcoming nature of the CCC, drew him to the denomination, which he now leads with a focus on transformation rather than tradition.
Ogundipe also dismissed accusations that his church engages in fetish practices, stressing that their use of items like honey and incense is rooted in biblical teachings. “We don’t go to streams or junctions to pray. We are transformational, not traditional,” he noted.
Addressing criticisms of church commercialization, he said genuine ministries prioritize service over profit. “The church is not a business center. Leaders should not extort or intimidate people. Any blessings I receive come willingly from members, not through coercion.”
On politics, Ogundipe defended his right to support President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections while cautioning against entitlement and misplaced criticism. He urged Nigerians to be wise in their expectations and focus on building better associations for personal and national growth.
Ogundipe concluded with a message to youths, encouraging them to remain focused, sow seeds of positivity, and surround themselves with proactive individuals to achieve transformation in life.
“Your crown is not in the crowd. It’s about what you do with what you are left with,” he advised.
