The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed that it has not yet commenced bulk sales of petroleum products to marketers from its Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC). Currently, the company is selling products sourced from the Dangote Refinery at its retail stations.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, issued a statement on Friday, emphasizing that the PHRC is still in the process of finalizing essential operations.

As a result, the refinery’s products are exclusively available for NNPCL’s own filling stations for the time being.

Soneye further addressed rumors circulating on social media regarding the pricing of products from PHRC, urging the public to disregard the misleading information.

He explained that while the company is selling Dangote Refinery products, pricing includes the applicable fees set by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

Regarding the pricing of fuel from the Port Harcourt Refining Company, Soneye noted that it has not been fixed yet, as prices are adjusted periodically based on operational conditions.

The clarification from NNPCL comes after the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) announced a slight reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for marketers, from ₦1,045 to ₦1,030 per litre.

This announcement was made by PETROAN’s National President, Dr. Billy Harry, during a meeting held in Abuja.
