From Business to Love – Actress Ekene Umenwa Shares How She Met Her Husband
Nollywood actress Ekene Umenwa has shared that her marriage to film producer Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex began as a business partnership that eventually blossomed into love.
Umenwa and Alex tied the knot in November 2023 and recently welcomed their first child. In a recent interview, Umenwa disclosed that they met several years ago through a business collaboration.
According to Umenwa, their professional relationship grew into a friendship before evolving into a romantic connection.

“I met my husband years back. I can’t be specific because I’m not good with dates, but he is. It’s been more than five years. Business brought us together since we work in the same field. From business, we became friends, and eventually, we fell in love,” she explained.
The actress also spoke about her decision to keep their relationship private, attributing it to her preference for a low-profile lifestyle.

“I’ve always been a private person. If not for doing this marriage to glorify God, I wouldn’t have posted about it. I wanted to be sure and prayed about it because marriage isn’t easy,” she said.
Umenwa expressed concerns about sharing personal matters on social media, noting the risks of external negativity. “Many people put their marriages out there, but not everyone wishes you well. There are many forces to contend with,” she added.
