Ilege Community Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Junior Secondary School
Ekohotblog reports that the people of Ilege in Ward D1, Epe Local Government, are excited about the construction of six classrooms to start the Ilege Junior Secondary School.
The project, led by Rep. Wale Raji, will make it easier for children in the community to access educational opportunities.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents shared their excitement.
Baale S. Amodu Ejalonibu, the Baale of Ilege, said,
“This is good news for our people. Our children have been facing challenges in accessing secondary education before now. Many of our children have to travel far to other towns to get this opportunity. This project will bring education closer to us.”
Mrs. M.A. Adenugba, the Headteacher of LG Primary School Ilege, said the school will help pupils transition smoothly from primary to secondary education.
“This will make life easier for parents and encourage more children to stay in school,” she said.
Hon. Basiru Oluwakemi Hassan, who represented Rep. Wale Raji at the event, said the project shows the lawmaker’s focus on improving education.
“Rep. Wale Raji wants every child in our community to have access to good education. This school is part of that plan, and I am sure more opportunities are coming,” he explained.
Community members also shared their joy.
Mr. Kareem, a local resident, said, “This school will help not just our children but everyone in the community. We have waited for this for a long time, and we are glad it has come.”
“The new school will make education more accessible and help the community grow. Everyone is hopeful that the project will be completed quickly,” he added.
