Marc Guehi Defends ‘Jesus Loves You’ Message On Rainbow Armband

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has stood by his decision to inscribe “Jesus loves you” on his Rainbow armband, explaining that it was meant as a message of “love, truth, and inclusivity.”

Despite receiving a warning from the Football Association (FA) after writing “I love Jesus” on his armband before Saturday’s match against Newcastle, Guehi was not deterred.

He once again wrote “Jesus loves you” on his armband during Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

“I think the message was pretty clear, to be honest,” Guehi told Sky Sports.

“It’s a message of love and truth as well and a message of inclusivity, so it speaks for itself.”
