Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, represented by Justice Blessing Ajileye, emphasized the need to amend laws to protect women and children.

He pledged his office’s support and urged women lawyers to test the effectiveness of laws, particularly on gender-based violence, ensuring offenders are prosecuted and justice served.

Outgoing Ekiti State FIDA Chairperson, Mrs. Oyinade Olatunbosun, revealed that the association handled over 300 gender-based violence cases in the past year. She emphasized the need for better structures to improve justice delivery.

The State Ministry of Women Affairs and the National Human Rights Commission called on stakeholders to speak out against gender-based violence, especially when victims are traumatized.
