Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chair Anomo Highlights Economic Prosperity, Sustainable Development at 2025 Budget Retreat

Ekohotblog reports that he Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has commenced its 2025 Budget Retreat with a call from the Executive Chairman, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, for the proposed budget to reflect the aspirations and needs of the people, with a focus on economic prosperity and infrastructural development.

While declaring the retreat open, Chairman Anomo emphasized the importance of ensuring that the budget, aptly titled “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainable Development,” consolidates the progress achieved so far and prioritizes the well-being of the residents.

“The 2025 budget must embody the wills, aspirations, and demands of the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin.

It is our duty to ensure that we consolidate on the economic prosperity and infrastructural growth that we have been building since the inception of this administration in 2021.

Let us ensure that every kobo spent directly impacts the lives of our people positively,” Anomo stated.

The retreat serves as a follow-up to the Budget Stakeholders’ Forum held last month, where residents shared their demands and expectations for the coming year.

Anomo took the opportunity to express gratitude to all stakeholders, including council executives, legislators, staff, and residents, for their support since the administration began.

“I deeply appreciate your cooperation since this administration started, and I urge you to sustain this support as we transition into the next phase of our development agenda,” he added.

In her welcome address, the Head of Department for Budget and Planning, Mrs. Aremu Oluwafunmilayo, explained the purpose of the retreat, highlighting its focus on financial planning and innovation.

“The essence of this retreat is to critically examine the financial status of the local government, enhance our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and utilize federal and state allocations efficiently.

“Under the progressive leadership of our Chairman, we are determined to bring innovative solutions to the challenges of our community,” Aremu said.

She also called for collective efforts to boost the council’s IGR, describing it as a critical factor for sustainable development.

The Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo, commended Chairman Anomo for his visionary leadership and people-centered governance.

“Your leadership style has created an enabling atmosphere for everyone to thrive.

Working with you has been fulfilling, and I can confidently say you are the kind of leader every administrator wishes for,” Awobajo remarked.

He urged all participants to bring forward innovative suggestions to improve revenue generation, ensuring that the 2025 budget performs optimally.

“This retreat is an opportunity for all stakeholders—departments, units, and revenue officers—to contribute meaningfully to the success of this budget.

Together, we can position the council for even greater achievements,” Awobajo added.
