Atiku Congratulates Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu as Ohanaeze Ndigbo Leader
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu on his selection as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Ozichukwu was chosen by Imeobi Ohanaeze Ndigbo to complete the remaining 27 days of the tenure left vacant following the death of Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
Ozichukwu, who previously served as the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East, will oversee the election for a new president-general scheduled for January 10, 2025. The next leader is expected to come from Rivers State.
In a message signed by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed happiness at Ozichukwu’s emergence and praised the smooth transition of leadership within the Igbo socio-cultural group.
Atiku described Ozichukwu as a leader with remarkable intellect, political experience, and strong character. He expressed confidence in his ability to handle the responsibilities of his new position with dignity and integrity.
The former Vice President also commended Ozichukwu’s past contributions as the National Vice Chairman of the PDP. Atiku noted that the new leader efforts in the party helped promote good governance, which is still remembered fondly by Nigerians.
The former VP urged Ozichukwu to lead Ohanaeze Ndigbo with a focus on unity and renewal. He encouraged him to foster cooperation and dialogue that will strengthen bonds among the Igbo people and across Nigeria.
Finally, Atiku expressed hope that Fidelis leadership would inspire a brighter future for the Igbo community, reflecting the aspirations and dreams of Nigerians as a whole.
