EKO HOT BLOG reports that the statement, signed by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, noted that the price reduction follows a previous decrease to N970 per litre on November 24. This latest price cut is aimed at easing transportation costs during the festive period.

“Africa’s first privately owned oil refinery, which had earlier lowered its price to N970 per litre, has now announced a further reduction to N899.50 per litre. This move is intended to provide relief to Nigerians during the holiday season and alleviate the burden of transport costs,” Chiejina said in the statement.

In addition to the price reduction, Dangote Petroleum Refinery introduced a special offer for consumers. For every litre of fuel purchased on a cash basis, customers will have the opportunity to buy an additional litre on credit, with the transaction backed by a bank guarantee from one of three banks: Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.

“To further ease transport costs, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. Effective immediately, petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM). Additionally, consumers purchasing fuel on a cash basis will be allowed to buy an extra litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” said Chiejina.

The refinery also expressed its gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support as the nation enters the festive season. Chiejina reiterated the refinery’s commitment to providing Nigerians with high-quality, competitively priced petroleum products that are both environmentally and engine-friendly.

He also highlighted that Dangote Refinery marks a significant milestone for Nigeria, ending the country’s reliance on substandard imported petroleum products, which have posed health, environmental, and machinery risks due to their poor quality and blending.
