LASTMA Deploys 2,500 Officers for Yuletide Traffic Control in Lagos
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has deployed 2,500 officers to manage traffic and ensure smooth movement across Lagos during the festive season.
This move follows Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive to keep traffic flowing and prevent disruptions in the city before, during, and after the holidays. Key areas targeted for this operation include Ikoyi, Lekki, Victoria Island, Ajah, and other high-traffic zones.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, announced that officers will work round-the-clock, focusing on clearing road obstructions and handling incidents quickly. He emphasized that the goal is to keep roads safe and accessible for residents and visitors during the season.
Bakare-Oki urged Lagosians to cooperate with traffic officers and follow road rules to make the operation successful. He assured the public that authority is fully committed to maintaining order and providing assistance to all road users during this busy period.
