Two Remanded In Court For Stealing Bajaj Motorcycle

Sheyi Adeleye, 20, and Tobi Tajudeen, 21, were on Thursday remanded by a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court  at Ikoyi the Correctional Centre for allegedly stealing a Bajaj motorcycle, valued at N217,000 after threatening to kill the owner, one Sulaiman Sanni with a knife.

The defendants were arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and disorderly conduct before Chief Magistrate Oluwatoyin Oghere, however they pleaded guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Oghere ordered that the defendants be kept in custody pending a review of the facts of the case and sentencing.

Prosecuting Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the defendants allegedly stole a red Bajaj motorcycle with registration number: KSF 200 QL from the complainant, Sulaimon Sanni after he had given them a lift.

She said they committed the offences on November 21, near Ann’s Barracks, Sabo area of Yaba.

The prosecutor said that the defendants had threatened Sanni with a dagger and then made away with his motorcycle.

She said that a police officer on patrol heard the shouts of the complainant and went after them.

The Police Officer caught up with them and knocked the defendants off the motorcycle before they could escape.

The case continues  on December 16.
