Gunmen Abduct Five Wedding Guests in Kwara, Demand N100m Ransom

The victims, including Oloye Oyewole Abolarin, the head of hunters in Odo-Owa, his wife Funmilayo Abolarin, Tunde Oladipo and his wife, and a woman identified as Bose from Agbele Igbede compound in Odo-Owa, were returning from a marriage ceremony in Ope town, Kogi State, when they were seized around 4 pm.
The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N100 million for their release. Family members and the community have begun raising funds to meet the demand and have appealed to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and security agencies for assistance.
There are also unconfirmed reports of another kidnapping incident on Monday along the Omu-Aran highway.
Attempts to contact DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the spokesperson for the state police command in Ilorin, were unsuccessful, as calls and text messages went unanswered by the time of this report.
