Taraba Police and Security Agencies Ensure Safe Christmas Celebrations
  • The Taraba Police Command has implemented comprehensive security measures for Christmas.
  • Multiple security agencies, including the police and military, are collaborating for statewide patrols.
  • Vigilantes and traffic control teams are also on duty to enhance public safety.

In celebration of Christmas, the Taraba Police Command, in partnership with other security agencies, has launched extensive security operations to maintain peace across the state. Speaking in Jalingo, the Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Opara, represented by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), ACP Yakubu Bala Itse, outlined the strategy involving personnel from the police, military, Civil Defence Corps, Immigration, Correctional Services, DSS, and Customs.

This joint team, supported by vigilantes, is carrying out patrols, intelligence-driven operations, and enhanced night patrols. These efforts are aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring a secure festive period. Key routes under surveillance include Zing-Jalingo to Wukari, Jalingo-Lau, Jalingo-Ardo Kola, and the Bali-Sardauna highway.

The police also stated that traffic management teams, including the Federal Road Safety Corps and wardens, have been deployed to worship centres to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety. Citizens were urged to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency line, 08030972376.
