Eko Hot Blog reports that Oscar, whose full name is Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior, is 33 years old and recently became a free agent after an eight-year stint in China with Shanghai Port, where he signed in 2017 following his departure from Chelsea.
The attacking midfielder began his professional career at Sao Paulo, making his first-team debut in 2008.
In 2010, he moved to Internacional de Porto Alegre in a contentious transfer that led to a lengthy legal battle.
Oscar’s achievements include an Olympic bronze medal with Brazil’s U23 team at the London 2012 Games and an impressive tenure with Chelsea.
During his time in England, he scored 38 goals in 203 appearances and won four major trophies: two Premier League titles (2014-2015, 2016-2017), the Europa League (2013), and the English League Cup (2015).
Internationally, Oscar earned 48 caps for Brazil, scoring 12 goals. Among them, his strike in Brazil’s 7-1 loss to Germany in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup remains a memorable, if bittersweet, moment in his career.
