Edo State Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Public Service Excellence
- Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has sworn in three new permanent secretaries.

At the swearing-in held at Government House, Benin, Governor Okpebholo highlighted the importance of training public servants to improve their performance. He stated that quality governance requires a skilled and committed workforce.
“Our mandate is to provide good governance, and public service is a crucial part of that. We will not tolerate laziness or a careless attitude toward work,” the governor said.
He explained that his administration is dedicated to building a civil service that is both efficient and transparent. According to him, ongoing training and repositioning of workers will be key to achieving a better Edo State.
The governor urged the newly appointed permanent secretaries to uphold high standards and professionalism in their duties. He also pledged the government’s full backing for reforms aimed at modernizing the public service.
One of the new permanent secretaries, Stella Eshieshie, spoke on behalf of her colleagues, assuring the governor of their commitment to implementing his policies effectively. She emphasized their determination to use their expertise to advance the administration’s vision for Edo State.
Fred Itua, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, added in a statement that the government is focused on creating a strong civil service to meet the expectations of Edo residents.
