Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarks about the 2024 Ballon d’Or, expressing gratitude and confidence following the Portugal captain’s endorsement.

Ronaldo, speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, had insisted that Vinicius deserved the prestigious award, calling the outcome “unfair.” The Brazilian international finished second in the Ballon d’Or rankings, losing out to Manchester City’s Rodri.

When asked about Ronaldo’s comments, Vinicius expressed his appreciation: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s words about the Ballon d’Or? If Cristiano said I’m the best, then I am!”

Despite the Ballon d’Or snub, Vinicius claimed a significant accolade at the Globe Soccer Awards, winning the FIFA Best Player of the Year award.
