“During the day, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 290 servicepeople,” the statement read, adding to the tally of significant Ukrainian losses in the region.

Since the start of hostilities in the Kursk direction, Russia estimates Ukraine’s total losses at approximately 50,120 soldiers, 294 tanks, and 217 infantry fighting vehicles.

These figures have not been independently verified, and Ukraine has yet to comment on the claims. Both sides frequently release conflicting reports about the scale of casualties and equipment losses, making it challenging to ascertain the full extent of the conflict’s toll.

The ongoing battles in the Kursk border area underscore the escalating tension between Russia and Ukraine, which has drawn widespread international attention.

The region has been a flashpoint for heavy fighting, with both sides vying for strategic control amid a larger conflict that has now spanned nearly two years.
