EKO HOT BLOG reports that the distribution was carried out under the Federal Government’s Special Intervention for 2024, and targeted flood victims in Akoko North-East and Akoko North-West Federal Constituency.
During the event, the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by the Head of the Relief Unit, Mr. Ajina Ayodeji, extended her sympathies to the affected communities. She reiterated the agency’s dedication to delivering prompt and effective disaster responses.

Umar stated the growing impact of climate change, emphasising the need for grassroots-level governments to enhance efforts in raising awareness and implementing policies to help communities address weather-related disasters.

“These relief materials are not meant to compensate for your losses but to demonstrate our shared humanity and commitment to your recovery,” Umar said. The items distributed included rice, spaghetti, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, tomato paste, and iodised salt.
