EKO HOT BLOG reports that Yesufu also seeks a perpetual injunction preventing the IGP from reassigning police officers as VIP escorts to individuals not entitled to such services, including Mrs. Bikikisu Aliyu.
Yesufu, through her lawyer Maxwell Opara, named President Bola Tinubu, the IGP, Mrs. Aliyu, the National Police Council, and the Nigerian Police Force as respondents in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/26/2025.
The plaintiff is challenging the validity of a presidential directive issued on November 13, 2023, which ordered the immediate withdrawal of police VIP escorts from citizens not statutorily entitled to them.
Yesufu’s lawsuit raises questions on the legality of the IGP’s actions and the public service duties of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).

She seeks a declaration affirming the president’s directive and an order for the IGP to withdraw all police escorts assigned to private individuals like Aliyu, whom she accuses of using police protection to evade legal processes. The case had not been assigned to a judge at the time of reporting.
