Makinde Presents Compendium Of Past Questions To Secondary School Students
The Oyo State Government on Monday conducted a symbolic presentation of 100,000 copies of compendium of past questions and answers to Secondary School Three (SS3) students in public and private secondary schools in the state.
Mrs Olubanwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the State Government, who represented Gov. Seyi Makinde at the presentation, urged the students to make use of the compendium which cost the state government N170 million.
Adeosun reiterated the commitment of the present administration toward quality education delivery in the state.
She said the extramural lessons organised for final year students in public schools was to prepare them for the forthcoming public examinations.
Adeosun admonished the students, especially those in SS3, to justify the government’s efforts through hard work and commitment to their studies.
In his address at the occasion, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin said the provision of the 100,000 copies of the compendium at no cost to all SS3 students was to improve the performance of students in externally moderated examinations.
Sangodoyin urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by coming out in flying colours in the examinations.
A cross-section of the students that took part in the presentation commended the efforts of government in repositioning the education sector.
Master Abiodun Olaoya of Bishop Philip Academy, Ibadan, Miss Peace Adejumo of First Baptist College, Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government and Master Iyanuoluwa Adegboyega of Government College, Ibadan, promised to utilise the opportunity provided by the state government.
The trio urged their colleagues in private and public secondary schools across the state to study and prepare well for the forthcoming external examinations.
