The engineers designed and built Ecowaka from scratch, proving that Nigeria has the talent and ability to produce innovative vehicles.
The tricycle is also very durable, making it suitable for Nigeria’s roads, which can sometimes be rough and challenging for vehicles.
The team behind Ecowaka said their goal is to introduce locally made vehicles into the Nigerian market and eventually expand to international markets.
They believe homegrown products can compete globally and help develop Nigeria’s technology and manufacturing industries. By producing vehicles within Nigeria, the engineers also hope to reduce the country’s reliance on imported automobiles and foreign technologies, which are often expensive and difficult to maintain.
The innovation of Ecowaka is expected to create jobs, encourage local manufacturing, and inspire other young inventors and engineers to believe in their ability to create world-class products.
Apart from Ecowaka, the same team of engineers has also built a mini-bus called ‘Koropin’, designed to provide comfortable and affordable transportation for Nigerians.
This further proves their dedication to producing environmentally friendly and efficient transportation options for the country.
The mini-bus, like Ecowaka, is also expected to run on alternative energy, making it a great solution for Nigeria’s high fuel costs and the need for cleaner transport options.

The logo for Ecowaka was designed by CD Signage, a Lagos-based company, adding another touch of Nigerian creativity to the project. This collaboration highlights the importance of teamwork in innovation, as different sectors of the Nigerian economy can work together to create successful products.
The engineers believe that with more support, Nigeria can become a leading hub for sustainable transportation technology in Africa and beyond.

With the rise in fuel costs and environmental concerns, battery-powered vehicles like Ecowaka offer a promising alternative. Many Nigerians have praised the initiative, calling it a breakthrough in local automobile production.
The affordability of Ecowaka also makes it a game-changer for commercial tricycle operators, who often struggle with the cost of fuel and maintenance.
By switching to battery-powered transport, riders can save more money while reducing harmful emissions that contribute to air pollution.
The engineers are now looking for support and investment to expand production and make their vehicles widely available across Nigeria and beyond.
They hope that with the right backing from the government, private investors, and the public, their project can grow into a large-scale industry that benefits not only Nigeria but the entire continent.
This project is a big step towards reducing dependence on fuel and embracing a cleaner, more affordable transport system.

If properly supported, Ecowaka and Koropin could change the future of Nigerian transportation and even find a place in markets worldwide.
The success of these vehicles will also send a strong message that Nigeria has the capacity to build and export its own technology, competing with global brands while promoting sustainability and economic growth.
