One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys has abruptly withdrawn from the disgraced music mogul’s sex-trafficking case, citing unspecified reasons in court documents filed Thursday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Attorney Anthony Ricco submitted a motion to step down from Combs’ legal team, stating, “Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”

His request to withdraw must be approved by a judge, who will determine if there is sufficient cause.
Ricco did not provide details about his decision but noted that it followed discussions with Combs’ lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo.

He also emphasized that his statement was brief to avoid violating attorney-client privilege.
Combs, 54, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges alleging he forced women into drugged-up sex shows. His trial is set for May 5.

Ricco reassured the court that his resignation would not impact the proceedings, as Combs still has five other defense attorneys representing him.
The high-profile case has drawn national attention, with Combs claiming he is being unfairly targeted under laws with “racist origins.”
