Despite Beterbiev’s powerful shots in the early rounds, the 40-year-old struggled with fatigue in the later stages as Bivol overturned his October loss.
With scorecards reading 114-114, 116-112, and 115-113, Bivol now holds the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF titles.
“I wanted to work from the first round to the last. I was pushing myself harder, more confident, and lighter. I wanted this win so much,” Bivol said.
