Lagos is set to witness a landmark gathering as the Ibile Eko Summit Group hosts the General Assembly of Indigenous Associations in Lagos State on Thursday, 27th February.

Themed “Greater Unity and Louder Voice,” the event aims to foster collaboration among indigenous groups and strengthen their influence in governance and socio-economic development.
The assembly will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Prof. Henry Hunjo, Head of the English Department, LASU, who will deliver the opening remark. Mr. Olasupo Shasore (SAN) is set to give the welcome address, emphasizing the need for legal and political advocacy to safeguard indigenous interests.
Respected elder statesman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, will deliver a goodwill message, encouraging unity among Lagos indigenes, while Mrs. Adebiyi Kazeem will also share her thoughts on the collective aspirations of the people.
A major highlight of the event is the keynote address by Mr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, who will speak on the role of infrastructure and policy reforms in the future of Lagos.
The summit will also feature an engaging panel discussion moderated by Mrs. Mayor Ogun-Yusuf, focusing on the topic “Lagos of Our Dreams.” Experts and stakeholders will deliberate on key issues affecting the state, including urban development, economic opportunities, and cultural preservation.
The event will conclude with closing remarks from Prof. Olawale Lawal, who will highlight key takeaways and the path forward for indigenous representation in Lagos State.
