According to sources within the opposition, Atiku is leading negotiations to form a political alliance capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has intensified his criticism of the Tinubu administration in recent weeks and has held multiple meetings with Atiku to strategize.
A key moment in their growing alliance was their joint condolence visit to the family of the late Niger Delta leader, Edwin Clark, which insiders claim was more than just a courtesy call.
A source familiar with the discussions revealed that the plan involves dismantling the PDP to ensure it does not pose an obstacle to their alliance.
“Atiku and El-Rufai have perfected plans with at least five PDP governors to weaken the PDP so that it doesn’t become an additional threat in their bid to wrest power from the APC and President Tinubu,” the source disclosed.
“They have realized that the mistake of 2023, where votes were split between the PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP, must not be repeated. Their strategy is to collapse the PDP, preventing it from taking away votes that should go to their alliance.”

According to the source, the ultimate goal is for the PDP to be in such a weakened state that its name and logo do not even appear on the 2027 ballot. “That way, voters will have a clear choice between Tinubu and the alternative coalition.”
