EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released by his media office on Saturday, Atiku reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, clarifying that his recent political engagements were aimed at fostering a strong coalition of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election, not abandoning his party.
“We have observed that some news platforms are peddling unverified reports that Atiku Abubakar is abandoning the PDP. We wish to clarify that this is a complete fallacy without any merit,” the statement read.
Atiku has been vocal about the need for a united opposition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. His media office emphasized that his call for a coalition is to strengthen opposition efforts, not to defect from the PDP.
“It is fallacious and unfounded to allege that the Waziri of Adamawa is leaving the PDP. Such an allegation contradicts the objective of the grand coalition he is championing with other prominent political leaders to rescue Nigeria from the APC’s misrule,” the statement added.

The former vice president maintained that he remains a “principal and bona fide member” of the PDP, urging Nigerians to disregard any claims suggesting otherwise.
