Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Passes Away
Oba Shefiu Ọlatunji Adewale, Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, has passed away at 87 years old.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the monarch had been crowned king in 2010 after serving as a commissioner in the civil service commission.
Our correspondent reports that he will be buried today according to Islamic rites.

In one of his interviews before his demise, he explained that the story of his life started when his mother died in 1957. “I was in form two. But my father took it upon his shoulders to finance our education, at least to the secondary school level. My father was a disciplinarian, too, and wouldn’t take nonsense from any of his kids.
“My life was moulded by both my father and my elder brother. He was an apprentice under UAC as an engineer and with the little money he was getting as salary, he was sending pocket money,” the late Olu-Epe had said.

Akinloye visited six revered monarchs: Oba Adebowale Sulaimon, the Omola of Odomola; Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo, the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri; Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja JP, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija; Oba Adelani Adeniyi, the Onigbaojo of Odo-Gbaojo; Oba Abdulrasaq Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye; and Oba Kolawole Aliru, the Alade-Uraka of Poka.
He was accompanied on the tour by members of his political team including some community leaders and stakeholders from Eredo LCDA, who joined in showing appreciation to the royal fathers.
As part of the visit, the chairman also used the opportunity to formally introduce the newly elected councillors to the monarchs.

Container Truck Crashes in Poka, Eredo as Residents Demand Urgent Road Safety Measures
Panic broke out in the Poka community of Eredo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, on Sunday after a speeding container truck lost control while attempting to navigate a bend.
Ekohotblog reports that the truck toppled over, causing its heavy container to fall across the road, blocking traffic and endangering lives.
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver tried to flee immediately after the crash but was quickly apprehended by alert bystanders who stopped him and handed him over to local security agents.
“It could have been a real tragedy,” said a resident who witnessed the incident. “The truck was moving too fast. If anyone had been walking or driving nearby, they wouldn’t have survived. We thank God nobody was hurt.”

“I stand here today only by the grace of God,” the king declared during his testimony.
“God has used me to bring development to this land from the establishment of the NYSC permanent orientation camp to various other projects that have touched the lives of my people. I am grateful for His protection.”
