Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan in honour of the late former governor, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement was made during a brief address at the interdenominational commendation service held in memory of the late statesman at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan, the state capital.

Governor Makinde stated that the institution will henceforth be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.

Dr. Olunloyo, who passed away just weeks before his 90th birthday, was the pioneer Rector of the polytechnic and a notable figure in Oyo State’s political and educational history.
