“These kidnappers have informants among us, and some people even know their hideouts,” the traditional ruler said. “But instead of reporting them to the security agencies, they keep quiet. This is dangerous.”
The royal father said that such silence amounts to complicity, warning that anyone caught protecting criminals will face the full wrath of the law.
He appealed to residents to support security operatives by sharing timely intelligence that could help curb the growing wave of insecurity in the area.
Alhaji Ibrahim also urged the police and other security agencies to act on credible information and ensure that those behind recent abductions in the region are brought to justice.

“There’s no reason why abducted victims should remain in captivity when we have intelligence reports. I appeal to our security agencies to rise to their responsibility,” he said.
Ajaokuta and its surrounding communities have witnessed a surge in kidnapping incidents in recent months, raising fears among locals and travellers.
The monarch said he has begun community sensitisation, advising families not to shield relatives who may be involved in criminal activities.
He reiterated his support for the government’s efforts to strengthen community policing and warned that security challenges would persist if people continued to protect wrongdoers.
