Shamsudeen Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has stirred fresh outrage online after verbally attacking a social media user who criticised him for allegedly misusing public resources.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the clash began when an X user known as A Malaika accused Shamsudeen of exploiting his father’s political office to fund an extravagant lifestyle and lobby for appointments.

Using his verified handle, @shamsudeen_bala, the governor’s son lashed out with abusive language, hurling insults at the user’s mother and challenging him to confront him physically.
“Are you sick in the head?! Come and meet me face to face… if truly you are a child of your mother,” Shamsudeen posted, in a message that quickly drew condemnation. He continued with expletives, claiming allegations don’t equal truth and making degrading remarks about the critic’s family.
This incident follows earlier reports that Shamsudeen allegedly ordered the unlawful detention of Dr Abubakar Ahmad, a lecturer from the Federal College of Horticulture in Gombe, after the academic posted a video of the governor’s son dancing with his wife.

Dr Ahmad was remanded for 21 days on charges including defamation and criminal intimidation. He was later released following public pressure and investigative reports by activist Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore had exposed alleged corruption involving Governor Bala Mohammed’s family, including claims that Shamsudeen opened over 50 bank accounts to launder public funds. The revelations reportedly led Shamsudeen to shut off comments on his Facebook page.
While in detention, Dr Ahmad was said to have developed a life-threatening condition, prompting outcry from civil society organisations who condemned his arrest over a non-violent post.
The latest verbal attack by Shamsudeen has reignited public concerns over abuse of power by political elites and the growing trend of intimidation against dissenting voices on social media.
