The signatories are calling on the international community to impose severe sanctions on Israel until it ends its “brutal campaign” and implements a permanent ceasefire.
This bold stance, considered taboo within Israel, highlights growing concerns both internationally and internally, as well as among the global Jewish diaspora, regarding the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Reports of severely emaciated children and chaotic scenes at food distribution centers underscore the urgency of their appeal.

Among the high-profile individuals who signed the letter are Academy Award recipient Yuval Abraham, former Israeli attorney general Michael Ben-Yair, and Avraham Burg, a former speaker of Israel’s parliament. Several recipients of the prestigious Israel Prize also joined the call.
The diverse group includes notable figures from various fields such as painter Michal Na’aman, documentary filmmaker Ra’anan Alexandrowicz, director Samuel Maoz, poet Aharon Shabtai, and choreographer Inbal Pinto.
Their collective voice emphasizes the gravity of the situation and the perceived need for strong international action to alleviate the suffering in Gaza
