A tragic incident occurred in the Dankama area of Katsina State, where a mother and her five children lost their lives after their home collapsed during a heavy downpour.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the disaster took place around 2 a.m. on Tuesday while the family was asleep. According to reports, the building gave way under the pressure of the rain, resulting in the death of six family members.

Muhammad Sani, the father of the children, confirmed the devastating event to journalists in Katsina. He said he was not at home at the time and was deeply shaken upon hearing the news.
“This affected about 10 people, but sadly, six passed away. Three others are currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” he said.
The victims have been identified as Mariya Sani, 45; Mujahid, 20; Zahariya, 18; Hauwa, 15; Amira; and five-year-old Nura Sani.

Sani expressed his grief, saying the loss was deeply painful, but added, “I accept it as the will of Allah. May He grant them eternal peace.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the entire community has been plunged into mourning. Neighbors and relatives have continued to visit the family home to offer condolences and support.
Hajiya Binta Dangani, Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Emergency Management Agency, also confirmed the incident.
She stated that agency officials had visited the family and assessed the damage to ensure proper follow-up and assistance.
