The Adekunle Ajasin University Alumni Association is urgently working to raise a N7 million ransom to secure the release of one of the university’s staff members, Omoniyi Eleyinmi. Eleyinmi, a faculty officer in the Faculty of Education, was abducted five days ago while returning to his home in Supare-Akoko, Ondo State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the kidnappers initially demanded N100 million but reduced the amount to N7 million after negotiations with the victim’s family.

The alumni association, of which Eleyinmi is a graduate, has since launched an appeal to the public for donations, highlighting a critical 24-hour deadline to gather the funds.
O’Seun Ogunsakin, the Global Publicity Secretary, has called on everyone to donate, emphasizing the need for a swift response to ensure Eleyinmi’s safe return to his family.

Meanwhile, police authorities have confirmed that the Commissioner of Police has deployed tactical commanders to the area. Their objective is to ensure the safe rescue of Eleyinmi and to bring those responsible for the abduction to justice.
This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges and the desperate measures families and communities are forced to take when faced with kidnappings.
