Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo has renewed his commitment to the welfare of pensioners, promising to ensure the consistent payment of gratuities and to gradually clear all outstanding pension debts.
According to Eko Hot Blog, the governor made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran.

Governor Ododo took the opportunity to congratulate Oloworaran on her recent appointment, describing her as a “proud daughter” of Kogi State, and pledged his full support.

The governor highlighted his administration’s strong focus on pensioners’ welfare, noting that he began his advocacy for pension reforms even before taking office.
In her response, the PenCom Director-General praised the governor’s dedication to retirees and acknowledged his significant role in addressing pension-related challenges.
She expressed PenCom’s readiness to work with the Kogi State Government to strengthen pension administration and protect the welfare of both workers and retirees.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing on a shared vision: to build a sustainable and transparent pension system that provides financial security for workers during their retirement.
