The new school, equipped with 12 classrooms, modern furniture, toilets, and a solar-powered borehole, is now set to change that reality.
Hon. Wale Raji, while addressing the people, emphasized the significance of the initiative.
“This is only the beginning. Our children deserve quality education, and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure communities across Epe Federal Constituency are not left behind in development.
Education is not just about classrooms; it is about breaking the cycle of poverty, empowering families, and building future leaders.
By bringing this school to Ilege, we are not only opening doors of knowledge but also laying the foundation for prosperity and progress.”
He further explained the challenges many students had faced in the past.
“For too long, our students have been denied access to education because of the distance they had to travel to attend schools in other communities.
By bringing education to their doorstep, we are ensuring quality learning that is closer, safer, and less expensive for parents. This is how we secure the future of our children.”
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Balogun of Ilege described the project as an answered prayer.
“Secondary education has not been accessible to our children for years. Some of them stay at home for days because parents cannot afford daily transport fares. This school is truly an answered prayer for the Ilege community.”
The Chairman of Lekki LCDA also commended the initiative, stressing that it would go a long way in improving the educational foundation of the community.
“This is a great step that will reduce the burden on parents and give our children a fair chance at education. We appreciate Hon. Wale Raji for prioritizing Ilege.”
Similarly, Hon. Bayo Balogun, representing Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency, applauded the project, describing it as a gesture that would reshape the future of children in the area.
