The victim was found brutally killed and dismembered, sending shockwaves through the area.
Eyewitnesses noted that the incident bears chilling similarities to a recent ritual case in Ilorin involving Abdulrahaman Bello, a self-styled cleric who killed Yetunde Lawal, a final-year student at Kwara College of Education, Ilorin, for her body parts.
Community members said the victim, whose husband is a trader in agricultural chemicals and equipment in a border town in Kwara North, had been alone at home the night before.
“Eyewitnesses said she was expecting a visitor that evening and was seen buying bottles of beer and plates of pepper soup before going indoors.

“By dawn, suspicion arose when a neighbor reportedly saw a man, believed to be her husband’s younger brother, leaving the house with a black nylon bag dripping with liquid.
“Closer inspection revealed the liquid was blood. Alarm was raised immediately, drawing other community members.
“Horrifyingly, body parts suspected to be hers, including an arm, a leg, and entrails, were later found in nearby bushes, but her head was missing.”
The discovery sparked panic in the community, with rumors of ritual motives stirring long-standing ethnic tensions and distrust among residents.
The incident has deepened suspicion within the multi-tribal settlement, leading to accusations and counter-accusations that are straining fragile community relations.
Police confirmed that the case has been transferred from the Budo Nuhu Divisional Headquarters along Airport Road to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ilorin for further investigation.
Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Police Command, Ejire Adeyemi-Toun, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
