The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in Akwa Ibom State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the operatives carried out a sting operation in the early hours of Monday, August 25, 2025, at Uyeh Heaven and Ayam Estates, along Ring Road 3 in Uyo.

According to the EFCC, the arrests followed a tip from actionable intelligence that linked the individuals to internet-related crimes. During the operation, the commission recovered five laptops, 10 mobile phones, and an iPad from the suspects.
The EFCC has stated that they will charge the suspects to court as soon as the investigations are complete.
