The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned the conduct of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) rally held on Saturday in Alimosho, Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the rally where former Labour Party governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour announced his defection allegedly turned violent, with the APC claiming that suspected ADC thugs harassed residents and party supporters during the event.

APC Southwest Organizing Secretary Lateef Ibirogba described the incident as “unfortunate and reckless,” stating that such behavior is unacceptable in a peaceful state like Lagos.
He questioned why Rhodes-Vivour would choose to announce his defection in a community where he neither lives nor votes, suggesting that his intentions were not honorable.

Ibirogba stated that the APC in Alimosho remains a peaceful party, but its members will not tolerate outsiders who come to cause mayhem under the guise of a political gathering.
He urged the police and other security agencies to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. He emphasized that democracy thrives on debate and freedom of choice, not intimidation or violence.
The APC leader reassured supporters across Lagos that the party remains committed to grassroots development and will not allow “desperate political stunts” to distract it.
