Speaking at an event organized to review progress on justice reforms, government officials highlighted that building a fair and transparent system is vital for sustaining public trust. They stressed that reforms are not just about policies on paper, but about creating real changes that impact people’s lives.
The government explained that part of its commitment includes improving the working conditions of judicial officers and providing necessary resources to ensure they can deliver justice without unnecessary delays. This, they noted, will help curb issues of congestion in courts, prolonged cases, and lack of confidence among the public.

Officials also pointed out that effective justice delivery is a cornerstone of good governance, adding that when people are confident that the law will protect their rights, they are more likely to contribute positively to the state’s development.
Beyond infrastructure and logistics, the Ondo State Government highlighted the importance of continuous training for legal practitioners. They believe that by equipping law officers with modern knowledge and tools, the judiciary can better respond to emerging legal challenges in society.
The reform agenda, according to the state, is also targeted at addressing bottlenecks in the correctional system, improving case management, and ensuring that marginalized groups have access to fair hearing.
The government concluded by reaffirming that its stance on justice reform is not negotiable, as it remains determined to promote a justice system that is fair, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the people.
