The Bursar of Lagos State University (LASU), Mr. Said Babatunde Olayinka, FCA, has been honored with the Southwest Nigeria Leadership in Financial Compliance and Accountability Award, in recognition of his outstanding dedication to financial transparency and accountability.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the award ceremony, held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Ibadan Civic Center, was organized by Global Skills Hub, United Kingdom, in collaboration with the Southwest Nigeria Excellence Award.
Reacting to the recognition from outside the country, Mr. Olayinka said:
“This award is a testament to the collective effort of my team and the entire LASU community.
I am humbled that our work is being recognized. It inspires us to keep raising the bar in accountability and financial excellence.”

Mr. Olayinka, who joined LASU in 1986 as a Clerical Assistant, has risen steadily to the position of University Bursar in June 2018.
With over 36 years of experience in university administration and accounting, he has played vital roles in the Bursary Department and Directorate of Internal Audit, including serving as the Director of Internal Audit.
Born on June 26, 1968, in Surulere, Lagos, he is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Management.
