Duza said the incident occurred around 12:45 pm on Saturday during a routine search.
The suspect, Njimogu Ikedi, allegedly concealed substances believed to be cannabis sativa and other psychoactive drugs in his clothes while attempting to visit an inmate.

The Controller of Corrections in the FCT, Christopher Jen, ordered the suspect’s arrest. Ikedi has since been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA for investigation and prosecution.
Jen warned visitors with ulterior motives to stay away from the facility, emphasising that vigilant officers would always uncover such acts. He also urged the public to support the service in reforming and rehabilitating offenders for public safety.
The interception comes more than a year after a woman was caught attempting to smuggle similar substances into the same facility.
In that case, the woman, who admitted she was sent to deliver drugs to an inmate, disguised the substances in food packs.
