Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has commended Nigerian teachers for their unwavering commitment to nurturing the nation’s future, stressing that their contributions are essential to national development.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that speaking at the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebration, Alausa highlighted the crucial role of teachers in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He noted that this year’s theme, “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” underscores the importance of teamwork and innovation within the education sector.
“I celebrate the remarkable men and women whose dedication continues to shape our nation’s future,” he said. “This day is special to me because my mother was a teacher, and I also served as an Associate Professor before joining public service.
Those experiences deepened my respect for the teaching profession and its power to transform lives.”

Alausa expressed delight in celebrating the occasion with Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said; Governors Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, and Deputy Governors Ifeanyi Ossai of Enugu and Joel Salifu Oyibo of Kogi.
He also acknowledged education stakeholders, ministry directors, agency heads, and development partners for their continued support in improving teaching conditions and learning environments across the country.
“Most importantly, I thank our teachers for their resilience, passion, and selfless service,” he added. “You are the backbone of our education system.
As we celebrate you today, I encourage you to keep striving for excellence, embrace innovation, and work together to uplift education standards across Nigeria.”
